Separated for one year, need a divorce?

I have been living separate from my husband for one year, and a divorce is a mutual agreement between both me and my husband. I want a divorce ASAP, but I have no proof or legal documentation proving we have not been living together for a year. Can I still get an automatic divorce somehow, or do I have to wait a year? I was told that if we both agree on the fact we have been separated for a year then we can still get an automatic divorce? Is this so, and if so how long will it take to have the divorce finalized and be able to move on?
