Am I able to sue a towing company?!?

So, on Feb 13th I thought my car was stolen from a parking lot downtown. Turns out, the car was found towed. When it was reported to the PD it was reported with the incorrect license plate number. The car is fine and I'm glad they found it. The towing company is only making me pay the impound fee. what im upset about, is now i have a claim on my insurance and a rental car, and all that, for nothing. All for this companies error. I paid to park in this lot, so I assumed I wouldn't be towed. Anything I can do?
