Do I have to pay tuition?

I just recieved a letter from my school asking to pay for my tuition for my first semester.. the thing is.. I don't have enough money and the they are threatening me that I will be sent to a collection agency on a certain date.. the thing is.. I don't have the money... they don't get that. Do I still have to pay or can I just forfeit the credits and not pay? If I do pay... is there a way for me to not get the grades on my record cause after finding out that I have no money for tuition, I didn't go to my final which is obviously a fail. Help me, what can I do to make a deal with the school?
