When and where i should poke my injured finger nail ?

3 days ago i slammed the car door on my finger .... and till today it still hurts i dnt thiknk that its broken but i checked the web and found that you can poke it with a hot pin so i would like to know where i can poke it since its half purple and half normal ??? and how much time does it need to stop hurting ???? thank you
